126 – 경복궁 ‘Water Heater’

August 24, 2010

The sound of water trickling around a stone basin and into a man-made pond at Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul.  According to our unofficial tour guide, this uses the sun’s heat to warm the mountain water bit by bit, before it flows down into the pond.  If it wasn’t for this system, it would have been much too cold for fish to survive in the pond. Recorded 7/25/10, 4:35PM (local time)
